We were in deep shock when we learned that our dear colleague, whom we had seen on Friday night and even spoken to on Saturday morning, was found deceased on Monday evening during a welfare check conducted since he was not responding to calls. With his family back in India and no other relatives in the US, we, his colleagues, were at a complete loss about what to do next.
At that critical moment, Mohan stepped in to help. He called us late that evening, explained all the necessary procedures, and patiently responded to our countless questions and concerns over the following days. He took the lead in coordinating the process of transporting our colleague’s mortal remains from Atlanta, Georgia to Trivandrum, Kerala, India. He not only coordinated the process with us but reached out to the airline station lead, funeral homes, Consular General, and others to make sure that everything is in order.
Even when we encountered unexpected delays due to the autopsy process and when the local funeral home’s morgue vendor became unresponsive, Mohan intervened and did everything possible to fast-track the arrangements. Thanks to his relentless efforts and dedication, within just five days, our colleague’s mortal remains were on a flight back to his family in India.
People like Team Aid really make a difference to the world. Thank you for ensuring everything with such empathy, compassion, and professionalism.
