Heartfelt Appreciation to TEAM Aid
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to TEAM Aid for the tremendous support and assistance provided to our family during the difficult time following the passing of my uncle in the USA.
Being in India and dealing with such an unexpected and painful situation was extremely difficult for our family. During this challenging period, TEAM Aid stood by us with great compassion, patience, and professionalism. Your guidance and support throughout the necessary arrangements gave us immense relief and comfort.
We sincerely appreciate the way your team handled everything with care and understanding. Your timely assistance, clear communication, and dedication helped our family manage a very difficult situation with greater peace of mind.

Thank you for hand holding at much needed time. While we were away in India, Mohan garu and Shankar garu personally called me and assured the smooth repatriation process. They outlined the process clearly, with every step involved, the actions that I need to take. I also extend my thanks to Dave of Casper funeral services who worked with me beyond his working hours. And thanks to Mr. Muthu at Chennai airport. He is 63 years old, getting weekly dialisis and yet ran like a boy with me to make up for the flight delays.
Few things that I noted about the process:
1. Ask for at least 10 original death certificates. There are various organizations in India that require them. Banks, Pension dispatchers, Utility accounts etc. Having more than 10 wouldn’t hurt.
2. Make sure you look up the flight number and check its tracking information for the past few trips. In my case there was a mistake in the flight number, but Dave later corrected it.
3. Take a document organizer binder with you. There are numerous papers that are handed out to you, and will ask you to present later. Make sure you separate originals and photo copies.
4. Take a few blank white papers too, as you have to write few request letters addressing some of the airport officials.
5. Within the airport you may have to go back and forth between the health and immigration clearance. and then lastly customs clearance.
6. For the rest of clearance and help with the staff you must be ready to tip to get attention. (With knowing someone in customs and cargo area, it took almost 4 hours for me). Prepare for staying more than 4 hours, and plan the last rites accorddingly.
7. Arrange an ambulance by your own, and keep them in the loop during the process, so that they can rest, eat and be ready to hit the road, when you are ready.

As the only close relatives of the deceased living in Atlanta, the sudden demise of Saish was a shock and sense of helplessness. We had to console his family here and in India. We had never experienced such a difficult situation before. The official documentation of his transfer to India was the hardest thing.
That’s when Mr. Mohan was introduced to us by a friend. The moment we contacted Mr, Mohan, he took it upon himself to guide and handle every step of the process – from mortuary, local county, Indian consulate and Air cargo. It was a smooth process during our most difficult time. The network and good reputation of this selfless organization(Team Aid) is now known to all. The moment we mention Mr. Mohan’s name, they all knew and expedited the process. Team Aid organization is a boon to Indian expatriate community. I profoundly appreciate and thank Mr. Mohan and Team Aid for this noble work. I am ever grateful for the help I received from Mr. Mohan Nannapaneni.

Words feel inadequate for what I want to say, but I have to try. Thank you from the very bottom of my heart for everything you did for Saish.When we lost Saish, I don’t think any of us fully knew how to stand, let alone act. But you did. You stepped forward without being asked twice, and you carried a weight that most people would find unbearable coordinating his last rites with such care, dignity, and precision, and making sure his body made it home to India so his family could hold him one final time. That is not a small thing. That is not an easy thing. That is one of the hardest things a friend can ever do for another.
I know what it took the calls, the paperwork, the logistics, the endless details that had to be right when none of us had the bandwidth to think straight. You held all of that so the rest of us could simply grieve. You gave Saish’s family the ability to say goodbye properly, in the way their faith and their hearts needed. You gave us all the space to mourn instead of scramble. That’s a gift I don’t think I can ever fully repay.
Please know that what you did will never be forgotten not by me, not by his family, and not by anyone who understands what you carried during that week. Thank you, Mohan. Truly, deeply, thank you.

When I took my mother to the United States, I never imagined that her happiest days would actually be her last ones and the journey would end the way it did. During our return flight from Chicago to London, she suddenly developed acute cardiac failure, forcing the aircraft to make an emergency landing in Boston. Although she was initially stabilized, she suffered a cardiac arrest during an angiogram and, tragically, passed away.
What followed was one of the most difficult and overwhelming periods of our lives. Amid our grief and shock, we were informed that it could take 7 to 10 days, or even longer, to repatriate her mortal remains to India. At a time when we felt completely lost and uncertain, a friend connected us with Sreeni who volunteers for Team Aid.
Soon afterward, Mr Manvendar Singh from the Embassy put us in touch with Mr. Mohan, who personally reached out to explain how Team Aid could support us. We were added to a coordination group by Dr Naveen Mathew, guided through every step of the documentation process, and connected with Mr. David from Casper Funeral Home.
From that moment onward, everything was handled with remarkable compassion, professionalism, and urgency. My mother was transferred from the hospital the very next day, and being able to see her peaceful face brought us immense comfort during an otherwise heartbreaking time. Within another day, all the necessary documentation had been completed, enabling us to bring her home on the very next available flight.
In the midst of this tragedy, we truly felt the hand of God guiding us through the kindness and dedication of the people who came to our aid. Because of their extraordinary efforts, we were able to bring our mother home and lay her to rest beside our father, fulfilling a wish that meant so much to our family.
We offer our deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to everyone at Team Aid, as well as all those who supported us through this journey. At a time of unimaginable loss, confusion, and emotional pain, you stood beside us with empathy, kindness, and exceptional efficiency. You did far more than help us bring our mother home; you restored our faith in humanity and reminded us that there are still people whose selfless actions make the world a better and more compassionate place.
