SAN FRANCISCO, CA — On the occasion of India’s Republic Day, TEAM Aid was deeply honored to receive a Certificate of Recognition from the Consulate General of India, San Francisco. This prestigious award acknowledges TEAM Aid’s “selfless service and unwavering commitment to providing 24/7 support to families in crisis abroad.”
For over eight years, TEAM Aid has acted as a global lifeline, assisting more than 5,000 families and repatriating over 4,000 mortal remains to India and 25 other countries. The Consulate’s recognition highlights the profound impact of these efforts in bringing relief and dignity to those in their darkest hours.
Honoring Our National Coordinators:
In a powerful testament to the strength of our grassroots network, the consulate also conferred individual Certificates of Recognition. These honors were awarded to two of our California-based National Coordinators, Mr. Gurjeet Rai and Mr. J.P. Samuel, in recognition of their years of dedicated community service.
-
Mr. Gurjeet Rai: A seasoned real estate broker and dedicated social worker, Gurjeet has been a pillar of TEAM Aid for seven years. After the profound experience of losing his grandmother in the U.S., he transformed his personal grief into a mission of service. He specializes in the complex logistics of repatriation, ensuring families can bring their loved ones home to India with dignity and peace.

Mr. J.P. Samuel: Serving as National Coordinator for eight years, J.P. walks alongside immigrant families during their most vulnerable moments. As the Lead Pastor of The Spectrum Church in San José, he bridges the gap between logistical expertise and compassionate care, offering spiritual guidance and trauma counseling to those navigating overseas tragedies.
“Your efforts have brought relief and dignity to thousands of families over the past eight years.” — Consulate General of India, San Francisco
A Message of Gratitude:
TEAM Aid extends its deepest thanks to the Consulate General of India, San Francisco, for acknowledging our collective and individual efforts. We also celebrate our network of 120 partner organizations and thousands of volunteers across North America. Most importantly, this recognition belongs to our dedicated volunteers.
