Boston, MA — TEAM Aid, a global humanitarian nonprofit, successfully hosted a distinguished gathering in Boston, bringing together diplomatic leaders and representatives from 66 Indian diaspora organizations across New England. The event marked a significant step in fostering collaboration with the newly established Consulate General of India in Boston.
The gathering honored Consul General Mr. Raghuram S, Deputy Consul General Ms. Shruthi Purushotam, Mr. Jag Mohan (Minister, Embassy of India, Washington, D.C.) Mr. Debesh Kumar Behera, Consul, Indian Embassy, and Mr. Prem Bhandari (Chairman, Jaipur Foot USA). The program reflected unity, shared purpose, and strong community engagement.
In his address, Mr. Mohan Nannapaneni, Founder and President of TEAM Aid, highlighted the organization’s global humanitarian mission and emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts among consulates, governments, airlines, and community organizations to provide dignified support during crises.
He noted that the event was designed to strengthen partnerships with the Consulate, enabling more effective service to the Indian diaspora. He also expressed gratitude to the Government of India for key policy reforms that have streamlined repatriation processes and reduced hardships for families.
Since 2017, TEAM Aid has supported over 5,000 families across 25+ countries, facilitated thousands of dignified funeral services, and built a 3,000+ global volunteer network operating 24/7.
Ms. Shruthi Purushotam outlined the Consulate’s services, while Mr. Jag Mohan commended TEAM Aid’s impactful humanitarian work and emphasized the importance of strong diaspora–diplomatic collaboration.
In a key announcement, TEAM Aid appointed Mr. Prem Bhandari as Honorary Chairman, recognizing his leadership and advocacy.
In his remarks, Mr. Bhandari praised the Consulate General of India in New York under Mr. Binay K. Pradhan as a model of excellence and called for improved efficiency in VFS services. He also acknowledged Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s leadership in strengthening diaspora engagement.
Consul General Mr. Raghuram S reaffirmed the Boston Consulate’s commitment to accessible, responsive, and year-round service to the community.
